Title：A quick look at Gizra's stack and how Drupal 8 fits in
In Gizra, we run an unusual stack that helps us reach blazing fast websites - Drupal 7 & 8 run our backends, Elm in the front, and most recently Yesod (a Haskell framework). There's a certain mindset in choosing these technologies - it's about the idea of "correctness" and how it's backed by our business needs; making sure we can move quickly without breaking stuff. ---In this session, I'll explain in depth about this mindset and explain how you can get involved as well.
Ember is one of the most popular frontend frameworks around. It gathers the best practices and methodologies into one place to build frameworks In this session, we will present the work we've been doing at OIST to develop our internal communications tool, what have been our findings and how we have leveraged Drupal 8, NodeJs and EmberJs to build a complex headless tool with a small team. We will talk about EmberJs, how to take advantage of a JsonAPI powered REST api, how to work out authentication, authorization, content creation and display and everything from a practical perspective applied in real projects.
While agile development method is often used for Drupal development in overseas, it is quite difficult to practice the same in Japan. In this session, I will present how we can advance the agile development with Drupal which is not based on a service contract, winning the support of Japanese clients, and talk about the problems on doing it.
This is the presentation I would have loved to see when I started using Composer with Drupal. This presentation is based on my experience working with the Dependency Management for PHP: Composer, with Drupal (version 7and 8). Composer is Drupal 8 system to manage PHP dependencies for core and all contributed modules.
Drupal 8 introduces the concept of services. Services are groups of related functionality used within Drupal. This presentation will discuss what a service is, how to create one, and best practices for using them.

Drupal has a very powerful caching mechanism that can be managed in various units such as fields, blocks, pages, etc. It is also possible to link with external cache systems such as Varnish and CDN. If you'd like to make improvements to existing Drupal projects, you will need to create patches and upload it, which is a bit different from the recent way when you do the same kind of work in github such as folk and pull requests. In this session, I will talk about the know-how for doing such work. I hope you will be able to make a code contribution to Drupal projects.
